Modules

Every Nexshift subscription includes all modules. Here is a full reference for what each module does and who can access it.

๐Ÿญ Production

Operators Supervisors Managers

The Production module is the core of Nexshift. It gives operators a live console for each machine where they log output, scrap, and downtime events in real time.

Live machine console

Each machine has a dedicated console showing active run status, output count, downtime, and OEE in real time.

Production runs

Operators start and end runs, log units produced, scrap units, and downtime events throughout the shift.

Downtime logging

Downtime events are logged with reason codes and duration. OEE availability is calculated automatically.

OEE calculation

Availability, Performance, and Quality scores are calculated per run and aggregated across machines and time periods.

Setup / Changeover status

Runs begin in Setup mode with an amber banner and elapsed timer. Pressing Start Running marks the transition to active production. Setup time is tracked separately and excluded from OEE calculations.

Production run log

Supervisors and above can view the full production run history at /production/runs with site, machine, SKU, and date filters. Clicking any row opens the run detail page.

Run detail page

Each production run has a dedicated detail page showing a read-only summary plus editable fields for units produced, target quantity, batch number, setup duration, and start and end times.

๐Ÿ“‹ Quality

Operators Supervisors Managers HSEQ

The Quality module manages inspection templates and quality check logging across all machines and products.

Quality templates

Create reusable inspection templates with pass/fail, numeric, checkbox, and text check types.

Quality checks

Operators submit quality checks against a template during a production run. Results are saved with timestamp and operator.

Pass rate tracking

Pass rates are tracked per machine, per product, and over time. Non-conformances are flagged immediately.

Certificate of Analysis

Generate a COA for any completed production run. Approved COAs can be printed and attached to shipments.

๐Ÿ”ง Maintenance

Maintenance Technicians Maintenance Managers Admins

The Maintenance module covers the full lifecycle of equipment maintenance from reactive work orders through to preventive maintenance scheduling.

Asset register

Maintain a register of all physical assets with manufacturer details, warranty dates, and service history.

Work orders

Create, assign, and track work orders for reactive and planned maintenance. Log labour time and parts.

PM schedules

Set up preventive maintenance schedules by frequency. Nexshift tracks due dates and flags overdue PMs.

Asset downtime

Log downtime against assets in the register. Duration, reason, and category are tracked for maintenance analytics.

QR code downtime reporting

Each asset has a permanent QR code that can be printed and attached to the equipment. Floor workers scan it to submit a downtime report directly from their phone โ€” no login or user account required. Submissions go into a pending state and must be approved by a supervisor before being recorded.

Downtime categories

Company admins can configure custom downtime categories per site under Admin settings. If no custom categories are set, a sensible default list is used as a fallback.

๐Ÿฆบ Safety

All Users HSEQ Officers HSEQ Managers

The Safety module provides a complete HSEQ management system covering incidents, hazards, inspections, inductions, and policy acknowledgements.

Incident reporting

Log safety incidents with severity, location, description, and corrective actions. Track through to closure.

Hazard register

Identify and manage workplace hazards with risk scoring, controls, and residual risk assessment.

Safety inspections

Schedule and complete recurring safety inspections. Inspection results and findings are recorded and tracked.

Inductions & policies

Manage worker inductions and policy documents. Track acknowledgements and expiry dates.

๐Ÿงช Recipes & Batching

Operators Supervisors Managers Technical Manager HSEQ Officer

The Recipes and Batching module manages product formulations, batch creation, raw material tracking, and full batch traceability for manufacturers who need to track ingredients through production.

Recipe management

Create and manage recipes with ingredients, quantities, and units. Recipes can be linked directly to a product so the correct recipe auto-selects when an operator opens the ingredient log on the machine console.

Formulation recipes

Mark a recipe as a formulation (premix or minor ingredient blend). A normal recipe can reference one formulation recipe. When creating a batch, the operator selects an available formulation batch and the system automatically deducts one from its used quantity.

Batching schedule

Supervisors plan the day's batch run by adding schedule entries with a recipe, planned batch count, and sequence number. Operators see the queue when starting a new batch and are prompted for a reason if they work out of order.

Batch creation

Create batches against a recipe with lot number, production date, and quantity. Operators can start a batch directly from the schedule queue or manually select any recipe. Batches track ingredient usage and link back to the recipe version used.

Raw materials register

Maintain a register of raw materials with supplier details and material codes. Used as the ingredient source when building recipes.

Batch traceability

Search by supplier batch code or material name to trace which batches used a specific ingredient. Supports both simple log sites and bulk batch sites. Site-scoped roles have their site pre-selected automatically.

Simple log mode

Sites running in simple batch mode use a lightweight ingredient log on the machine console. The linked recipe auto-populates the ingredient rows, and logs are saved against the active production run.

Tip: Recipes and Raw Materials are managed under Admin. Only Manufacturing Manager, Technical Manager, Company Admin, and System Admin can create or edit recipes.

๐Ÿ‘ค Visitors & Contractors

Company Admins HSEQ Officers Supervisors

QR-based sign-in system for visitors and contractors arriving at any site. No login required for sign-in. Admins manage contractor records and compliance documents inside the app.

Visitor check-in & out

Permanent QR codes at site entrances. Visitors scan to check in, enter their details, and acknowledge the site safety policy. A second QR handles check-out.

Contractor register

Maintain a register of approved contractors per site. Record contact details, work type, and compliance documents with expiry dates.

Contractor self-service portal

Contractors receive a unique link to upload their own insurance certificates, licences, and other compliance documents without needing a Nexshift login.

Expired document alerts

Automatic email notifications 30 days before and on the expiry date of contractor documents. Supervisors are alerted immediately if a contractor signs in with expired documents.

Live on-site view

See who is currently on site in real time from the Safety module. Visitors and contractors are shown together in a single view. Any user with access can manually check out a visitor or contractor using the Check Out button. A Refresh button reloads the on-site list without a full page reload.

Site QR codes

Print all four sign-in QR codes (visitor in/out, contractor in/out) from the Admin section. One page, print-ready.

Tip: Create separate induction policies with the type set to Visitor Induction or Contractor Induction and they will automatically appear on the relevant sign-in form for acknowledgement.

๐Ÿ“Š Analytics

Supervisors Managers Admins

The Analytics module provides a comprehensive view of production, quality, and maintenance performance across any time period.

Production analytics

OEE trends, availability, performance, and quality scores by machine, product, and shift over any date range.

Downtime breakdown

Downtime by reason code with Pareto analysis. Identify the biggest contributors to lost production time.

Quality analytics

Pass rate trends by machine and product. Top failing check items and non-conformance history.

Maintenance analytics

Work order completion rates, mean time between failures, and maintenance cost tracking.

๐Ÿ“„ Reports

Supervisors Managers HSEQ

Generate on-demand reports for shifts, daily operations, and quality outcomes. All reports are printable.

Shift reports

Generate a production, quality, and safety summary for any shift on any date. Kept for 7 days and regenerable on demand.

Daily operations report

๐Ÿ“… Schedule

Supervisors Managers Admins

The Schedule module allows supervisors and managers to plan upcoming production jobs across machines. Scheduled jobs can be assigned a product, batch, target quantity, and priority. Operators see their upcoming jobs on the production floor.
